Physically handicapped children means children who suffer from any physical disability making it impracticable or impossible for them to benefit from or participate in a regular classroom program in the public schools and whose proper education requires modification of the regular classroom program.The most common types of physical challenges affect a primary sense or ability to move and get around easily. These include sight impairment, hearing impairment, and motor impairment.
Types of impairments :
Vision impairments: A person who is blind has a permanent vision impairment.
Hearing impairments: A person who is deaf has a permanent hearing impairment.
Mobility impairments: A person who is paralyzed has a permanent mobility impairment.
Cognitive impairments:
Speech impairments
They should have the right to non-discrimination,education,proper health care facilities and caring parents.
Special Schools is a programme of the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment. Children with severe multiple disabilities who have difficulty in coping with regular schools are referred to such special schools.

We have to help physically challenged children to lead a normal life. So that they too can spread their wings and fly. Many of us may not understand exactly what the challenges children need. Their families may not even know what special arrangements are in place for them. We work for them all over India.
